CREELMAN FOR MONO MAYOR

July 27, 2022

Today I am announcing my candidacy for Mayor of the Town of Mono. The election will be held on Monday October 24

I’ve enjoyed my return to municipal service, first as Deputy Mayor in 2018 and now as Mayor for the last 10 months. Together with colleagues on Mono and Dufferin County councils we’ve accomplished much during trying times.

I am proudest of my work to bring high speed Internet to all of Mono. With Rogers announcement to run fibre throughout the town, we are well on our way to achieving a level of Internet service thought unimaginable even a year ago.

A priority for me has been road and public safety. I supported additional police enforcement along our roads and highways and will continue to press the Provincial government to increase penalties for speeders and allow us to introduce Automated Speed Enforcement to any location where we know it is required.

I have pushed for effective By law enforcement and pleased we now report outstanding charges and their disposition on the Town’s website. Our compliance and conviction rates are impressive.

Communication and customer service remain top priorities going forward. We must truly interact with residents, listening and responding to their concerns.

The next four years will be crucial to Mono and Dufferin County. We must continue managing growth in thoughtful ways while protecting what makes Mono so special. Between now and election day I look forward to meeting and communicating with Mono residents and sharing my thoughts about our future.

My initiatives over the last three and one half years can be found here.
